OrdnanceSurvey.co.uk is the official UK map shop — worth comparing if you need authoritative paper walking maps (Explorer, Landranger) or an OS Maps digital subscription. Use this page when you want up-to-date topographic detail and reliable route planning across Great Britain.
Official mapping
Maps come from the UK's national mapping agency — best source for authoritative grid references and contours.
Instant digital access
Buy digital downloads or an OS Maps subscription and get map data or app access immediately when you need it.
Bundle savings
Look for multi-map packs and occasional site sales to reduce the per‑map cost versus buying single sheets.
What they're known for
Ordnance Survey's shop is primarily where you buy the official paper topographic maps — Explorer (1:25,000) and Landranger (1:50,000) — plus related atlases and wall maps. It also sells OS Maps digital products and downloads for route planning. If you need detailed rights-of-way, contour detail and reliable grid references across Great Britain, this is the stock to compare.
How to get the best price
The clearest ways to save are bundles and timing. Buy multi-map packs when available, and watch seasonal promotions (Black Friday and summer sales sometimes include maps). If you want both paper and digital, compare bundle offers versus separate purchases — a short OS Maps subscription can be cheaper than repeated single downloads for active walkers.
Shipping, returns & trust
Digital map purchases and subscriptions are available instantly; physical maps and atlases are shipped within the UK with paid delivery options at checkout. Digital products are non-returnable once downloaded; check the shop returns page for the exact window on unwanted physical items. Faulty goods and consumer-rights issues are handled under UK law — keep order confirmation and item details for any claim.

Verdict
Worth it when
- You need the most accurate, official topographic maps for walking or route planning in Great Britain.
- You want instant access to digital mapping and route planning via the OS Maps app or downloads.
- You plan to buy several sheets — multi-map packs and occasional sales lower the per-map price.
Skip it if
- You're only looking for the cheapest generic map — big-box retailers or discount sellers sometimes undercut official prices.
- You need extensive coverage outside Great Britain — OS mapping focuses on Great Britain, not global maps.
