Petmate is the maker/retailer to check if you want sturdy plastic crates, travel carriers and practical feeders for dogs and cats. Good for shoppers who value durability and replacement parts more than trend-led pet fashion.
Built for rough use
Petmate's hard-sided crates and carriers are designed for longevity — good if you need something that withstands travel and active dogs.
Predictable sale windows
Look for seasonal site promotions and coupon codes around holidays and spring — those are the best times to save on big-ticket items.
Spare parts & accessories
Replacement doors, latches and crate accessories are commonly available, which extends product life and reduces total cost of ownership.
What Petmate is known for
Petmate stands out for practical, no-frills pet hardware: heavy-duty plastic kennels, rigid travel carriers, gravity feeders and litter solutions. If you need something that survives travel, boarding or everyday outdoor use — rather than boutique design — Petmate is often the go-to. Their parts and accessories for those core products are also easy to find, which matters if you want to repair rather than replace.
How to get the best price
Watch for seasonal promotions (spring cleanups, summer travel, holiday sales) and site coupon codes; those are when Petmate discounts larger items like crates and carriers. Compare the manufacturer price with major retailers — sometimes the same item is cheaper at a big-box store or online seller once shipping is included. If you plan to buy multiple accessories, bundle purchases during a sale to stack savings.
Shipping, returns and trust signals
Petmate ships standard across the US with expedited options at checkout; timing depends on product size and stock. Returns and refunds can depend on whether you bought direct from petmate.com or an authorized retailer — clearance items are often final sale. For heavy items like kennels, check shipping costs and confirm the model number before ordering to avoid return hassles.
